Hourly Comics Day 2026

Hourly Comics day (HCD) is an annual event in February where illustrators, comic creators and all sorts of artists create a comic showing their daily life for each hour of a single day.

This year, HCD was on February 8th and yes it has taken me since then to finish drawing a single day! This is better than previous years where I just gave up mid-morning.

I started my first drawing at about 9pm on hourly comics day and I finished the final one about 20 minutes ago…

I started off using (one) colour. I abandoned this immediately as being too much work.

Geoff says this looks *exactly* like the cakes they brought back. I have a good memory for cake.
(also, ignore the wrong time. This should be 11am-12)

Even though she can’t really read yet, she loved these interior design books. I basically had to drag her away. It was great.

This seemed like a nice relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Just riding around looking out for all the busses.
hourly comics day illustration knitting
This knitting is all super colourful in the books. I didn’t have time for that in the illo though…

There was also a communal toilet room that looked kinda like a sauna in the Roman street
